MUSIK GEREJA SEBAGAI MEDIA PENANAMAN NILAI KEROHANIAN PADA ANAK TK KRISTEN

Abstract

Spiritual education in Christian kindergarten children is often hindered by abstract verbal approaches, while church music as a medium rich in melody and movement has not been optimally utilized. This study aims to examine the role of church music in instilling spiritual values in Christian kindergarten children, specifically by identifying relevant musical characteristics, analyzing the mechanisms of value internalization, and formulating indicators of success as well as practical principles for its implementation. The method employed is a library research approach with qualitative content analysis of textbooks, journal articles, and pedagogical-theological documents. The discussion reveals that the appropriate characteristics of church music include simple melodies, structured repetition, steady rhythms, concrete lyrics, and integration with body movements. The internalization mechanism occurs through repeated auditory processing, association with real-life experiences, involvement of body movements, and reinforcement within small communities. Indicators of success include spontaneity in spiritual language and changes in responses to conflict, while practical principles consist of integration, creative repetition, and teacher role modeling. This study concludes that church music is effective as a medium for instilling spiritual values in Christian kindergarten children, with recommendations for further field-based research.
