Journal History

Shift Key: Jurnal Teologi dan Pengembangan Pelayanan is an academic journal published by the Center for Research and Community Service (P3M) of Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Kristus Alfa Omega, Indonesia. The journal was first launched in October 2011 and was initially published once a year. Its print ISSN (P-ISSN: 2089-3035) was obtained in 2012. Responding to the growing demand for academic publications, since 2015 Shift Key has increased its publication frequency to two issues per year, in June and December, publishing six articles in each issue. This publication pattern has been maintained to the present day, although there are plans to increase the frequency in the future.

Since 2019, Shift Key has been available online through the Open Journal System (OJS), making its articles more widely accessible to the academic community. Its electronic ISSN (E-ISSN: 2774-4469) was obtained in 2019. This effort to enhance the quality of scientific publications was recognized in 2023, when the journal received National Accreditation for Academic Journals (ARJUNA) through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology No. 79/E/KPT/2023, with a SINTA 5 ranking.

In 2024, Shift Key: Jurnal Teologi dan Pengembangan Pelayanan experienced a serious disruption due to a hacker attack, which forced the journal management to migrate its hosting service to maintain system security. A larger cyberattack occurred again between April and July 2025, resulting in a suspension of the journal’s domain by the hosting provider. As a consequence, publication access was temporarily halted, and several historical archives from previous editions were lost and could not be recovered. After system restoration and enhanced digital security measures, the suspension was lifted in August 2025, and the journal resumed normal operations. At present, Shift Key continues to publish two issues per year consistently and remains committed to improving its editorial management and the scientific quality of its publications.
