About the Journal
Shift Key: Journal of Theology and Ministry Development (E-ISSN: 2774-4469 | P-ISSN: 2089-3035) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Kristus Alfa Omega. This journal serves as an academic platform for the advancement of theological studies and ministry development. Shift Key publishes original research articles, field study findings, and critical analyses in various areas such as biblical studies, systematic theology, pastoral ministry, Christian education, worship and music, leadership, and church growth. The journal aims to foster scholarly dialogue that bridges theology and practical ministry, promoting research that contributes to both academic excellence and ministerial relevance. Shift Key exists to integrate faith, research, and ministry-providing a forum for theological reflection that shapes effective and transformative ministry in the modern world. The journal welcomes contributions from both internal scholars of STT KAO and external researchers, maintaining a publication ratio of 30% internal authors and 70% external authors.
Shift Key: Journal of Theology and Ministry Development is published twice a year, in June and December, and applies a double-blind peer review system to ensure the integrity and quality of each published article. This journal has been nationally accredited (SINTA 5) by the Directorate General of Research and Development Strengthening, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, under Decree No. 79/Ε/ΚΡΤ/2023. As an open-access journal, Shift Key is committed to disseminating theological insights and empirical findings that equip Christian leaders, educators, and ministers to respond effectively to contemporary challenges in both the church and society.

Brief History of Shift Key Journal
Shift Key: Journal of Theology and Ministry Development is an academic journal published by the Center for Research and Community Service (P3M), Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Kristus Alfa Omega, Semarang, Indonesia. The journal was first launched in October 2011, initially published once a year. Responding to the growing demand for academic publications, since *2015 Shift Key has increased its frequency to two issues per year, namely in June and December, a publication pattern that continues to the present day.
As part of the academic institution Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Kristus Alfa Omega (Jl. Jati Barang RW 001/RT 001, Jati Barang Village, Mijen District, Bukit Semarang Baru, Semarang City, Central Java. Since 2019, Shift Key has been available online through the Open Journal System (OJS), making its articles more widely accessible to the academic community. This effort to improve the quality of scientific publications was recognized in 2023, when the journal received its first National Accreditation for Academic Journals (ARJUNA), through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology No. 79/E/KPT/2023, with a rank of SINTA 5.
In April–May 2025, the journal experienced a technical disruption to its website and domain due to an attack by a foreign account. However, after recovery and system security enhancement, the journal was restored and has been operating normally since August 2025. At present, Shift Key continues its consistent publication schedule and is committed to improving both its editorial management and the scientific quality of its published articles.
